When searching for a preschool for her daughter, Helena was met with uninspired attitudes towards early years education that were at odds with her belief in the importance of ensuring that young children’s imagination and sense of wonder are protected and nurtured.
She started Wildflowers Kindergarten in 2005, drawing from her interest in educational philosophy, experience with working in a Steiner kindergarten, and academic background in social anthropology, as well as her own childhood in Sweden primarily spent playing outdoors.
Helena continues to work with the children every day and remains dedicated to enriching their experiences at Wildflowers.
