Helena created Wildflowers in 2005 after seeking a preschool for her daughter. In doing so, she found uninspired attitudes to childhood which were at odds with her own Swedish childhood playing in nature and that she felt would not nurture her daughter’s imagination.

With her interest in educational philosophy and academic background in social anthropology, she built on her experience working in a Steiner kindergarten to start the first nature kindergarten in the UK.

Helena continues to work with the children every day and remains dedicated to enriching their experiences at Wildflowers.
